Slide Shows Club Trips & More

The Club will host a series of slide shows for the Autumn / Winter months. The venue will be The Munster Bar on the Mall in Waterford City. Members and friends are all welcome.

Mountaineering Ireland’s Summer meet in the AlpsThis coming Thursday 8th December, Elaine Mullen will present a slide show from this year’s Mountaineering Ireland’s Summer meet in the Alps.

 judging of the Club’s photo competition will take place after the slide show

8.30pm in the Munster bar, The Mall, Waterford, members and friends welcome, admission free.


All slide shows will start at 8.30pm.

Navigation Course

any club members are interested in learning more about navigation and /  or brushing up on what they already know, the club will be organising some indoor sessions followed by some on the mountain work shortly.

CMC Christmas raffle

The CMC Christmas raffle in aid of South East Mountain Rescue  will take place after the Holly and Hot Whiskey Walk on December 18th.

Draw card have been emailed to members, if you would like to support this worthy cause but won’t make the Christmas walk you can lodge directly to the CMC bank account ( details below ) and you will be entered


Trips 2016/17.

Autumn Bank-Holiday trip to Wicklow.

The Wicklow is full with 16 members travelling, if you are travelling and have not yet paid your €110 please do so now.

March 2017 ( St Patricks Wweekend )

Trip being planned to return to Snowdonia in North Wales. If you are interested in this please contact Brian Jacob  by  October 23rd.

September 2017, 3rd to 10th  .

We are planning a trip to Austria, we are looking at using the offer from Topflight ( see details inside the cover of the Irish Mountain Log Autumn edition ).

The cost will be €689 for flights, transfers, hotel accommodation including breakfast and evening meals and guided walks. This area will offer opportunities for all levels of walkers and has some Via Ferratas and other activities in the area.

To secure these dates we need to have numbers decided by the 30th October.
